Who We Support
We provide specialized services for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including those with complex care needs and dual diagnoses. Our programs are designed to offer a continuum of care across the lifespan, ensuring consistent, high-quality support at every stage of life.
Developmental Services Ontario (DSO) is the initial access point for all adult developmental services funded by the Ministry of Children, Community and Social Services (MCCSS) in Ontario. To determine eligibility for services or to complete an assessment prior to a referral to a developmental services agency such as CWSDS, please contact Developmental Services Ontario (DSO), 1-888-941-1121. Although support through the DSO becomes available at age 18, applying at age 16 is strongly encouraged to help you prepare for your transition into adult services and avoid potential delays.
CWSDS offers specialized services and supports for children and youth in the Central West Region of Ontario through the following services:
Halton Support Services: We provide service coordination, resources and support for children, youth and adults in the Halton Region. We are also a Transfer Payment Agency for the Special Services at Home Program for children and youth.
Respite Services: We offer respite care for children and youth at our Bond Street location in Oakville. Alternatively, you can apply for funding to receive respite care for your child or youth within your own home
