We provide non-emergency respite care for families of people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities and complex needs.

Respite Through Halton Support Services

We facilitate both in-home and out-of-home respite programs by helping to coordinate funding and by providing information on respite programs available to families living in the Halton region.

Respite at CWSDS’ On-Site Respite House

We provide respite care for adults and children/youth at our Bond Street location in Oakville for families in the municipalities of Halton, Peel and Dufferin and the regions of Waterloo and Wellington.  Learn more about our out-of-home respite program for adults here and for children/youth here.

How to Access Services:

Adult Respite Services
(Age 18 and Over)

CWSDS Adult Respite Services (both in-home and out-of-home) are provided to people aged 18 years or older based on a referral from Developmental Services Ontario (DSO). To determine eligibility for services and complete an assessment prior to a referral to an agency such as CWSDS, please contact Developmental Services Ontario (DSO), 1-888-941-1121.
