Finance Clerk


Hours: 40 hours per week

Salary: $21.38/hour

Central West Specialized Developmental Services (CWSDS) is a leader in providing supportive living, community participation supports and specialized services, assessment and treatment to people who have developmental and intellectual disabilities, dual diagnosis, and/or challenging behaviours throughout the municipalities of Halton, Peel and Dufferin and the regions of Waterloo and Wellington.

As a specialist in the field of developmental and intellectual disabilities, CWSDS has experienced continued growth over the last five years.  As such, we are looking to hire a dynamic Finance Clerk, full time. This position will report to the Accounting Manager.


  • Preparation and data entry for approved accounting data including accounts payable, receivable, journal entries, budget data and inventory.
  • Reconcile vendor statements.
  • Source and order supplies as required.
  • Process Request to Purchases and order as required.
  • Monitor inventory levels and re-order inventory as required.
  • Prepare and distribute accounts payable cheques/direct deposits.
  • Prepare and post bank deposits.
  • Input capital assets into database.
  • Process Resident Trust transactions including bank deposits, direct deposits, cheques and services charges.
  • Reconcile Resident Trust account on a monthly basis.
  • Ensure all outstanding receipts and cash for General Fund, Endowment and Resident Trust are returned and notify Managers of all outstanding documents.
  • Maintain filing system for all relevant files.
  • Provide back up to Finance Clerk III positions.
  • Provide back up for Front Desk relief as required.
  • Other related duties, as required.


  • Community College Diploma and/or Degree in Business Administration with an Accounting focus
  • Two years related office/accounts payable experience.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Demonstrated skill in the use of acceptable grammar, spelling and punctuation when word processing correspondence and reports; good ability to detect errors in own work and correct them.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Data entry skills at acceptable level in order to handle a volume of data entry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the use of Database software, proficiency with Microsoft Office and Sage Accounting software.
  • Providing proof of vaccination for COVID-19 and maintaining vaccination status as necessary from time to time during employment

LOCATION: Oakville

HOURS OF WORK:  Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 4:00 pm. required.

HOURLY RATE:  $21.28 / hour
